Alternative Medicine Or Self-Delusion - Need Proof |
Do all these
health alternative medicines work? Or is it just a
placebo effect which plays such a trick on us?
The followers of alternative
medicine criticism
ensure us that all these treatment can't be called effective and as
usual even are harmful for us. But what would you say about yoga or
pilates? Of course, these alternative
medicine branches
are so popular because of a good promotion of pop culture. But still
whether all these people start to follow such kinds of treatment if it
doesn't work? Moreover, such alternative medicine
as yoga and
especially pilates need some will-power. It is not as if you just take
a pill and are waiting for an effect. You need to do something. And we
all know that the most part of us are very lazy and we will never do
something if it doesn't work.
But the above mentioned kinds of treatment are wide-spread now and
don't need our "support". The other thing is such alternative medicine
as shiatsu, acupuncture, aroma massage and aromatherapy on the whole,
self-hypnosis, Ayurveda and many more. On the one hand, the critics of
alternative methods assert that one of the main drawbacks of
alternative medicine is that no researches can be made, due to
which we can confirm that this kind of treatment really works. On the
other hand, the same critics tell that according to numerous
investigations there is no explanation or confirmation of alternative
medicine efficacy. Don't you see some contradiction in these
statements?
As usual, reading different reports concerning health alternative
medicine we can find really strange samples which the critics give us.
Such as soothing pain just putting some herbal on wound or treating
such serious disorders as cystitis or tuberculosis with usual oils and
extracts. And all these in very short term. Well, such things really
seems not in favor of alternative medicine.
And still there are cases when alternative medicine really help us.
Allergy, stresses, asthma, anemia, high blood pressure, arthritis,
insomnia, headaches, pains and many more. But as usual all these are
psychosomatic diseases. It means that stresses and your attitude to
life influence greatly your state of health and cause such disorders.
In these cases alternative medicine can really help, though some
critics also suppose that it is just a self-delusion. A person believes
that he will recover and just do it! So, is there any harm?
But if you want to treat some dangerous illness using alternative
medicine it is better for you to consult with your doctor and make sure
that such a treatment will be appropriate for you.
